Don’t miss this experience
The Saltwater Freshwater Festival is a day filled with incredible cultural talent, but also a day for deep immersion. While our stages feature some of Australia’s finest First Nations Artists, the heart of the festival lies in the connections you make and the unique cultural offerings we have available.
Walk across Country following the Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremonies, then dive into Cultural Workshops like weaving, language, and traditional crafts. Engage with ancestral narratives through traditional dance on the Dance Grounds, or enjoy Youth Programs that empower the next generation with performance and storytelling.
This is a safe space for genuine cultural awareness and reconciliation. A place to reflect, respect, and celebrate our culture and the next generation.
About the festival
The Saltwater Freshwater Festival is an Aboriginal Cultural Festival held on the Mid North Coast of NSW. Led entirely by Indigenous voices, our festival celebrates the living cultures of the four nations, Gumbaynggirr, Dunghutti, Biripi and Worimi that make up the Mid North Coast of NSW, celebrating in a different community each year.
More than just a First Nations festival, we are a powerful, year-round movement dedicated to celebrating our survival, empowering our next generation, and creating a space for true unity. In 2026, SWFW-F26 will be held on 26 January in Coffs Harbour, with the theme Reflect. Respect. Celebrate. – The Next Generation Rising. We invite all communities to join us for an inclusive, family-friendly day of culture, music, dance, art, lifestyle and culinary talent.
